Op 21 december vindt, als afsluiting van de lustrummaand, het traditionele Thorgala plaats. Dit jaar zal de locatie kasteel Heeswijk zijn. Dit kasteel heeft in zijn lange historie veel meegemaakt. Zo heeft de Franse koning Lodewijk XIV in 1672 zijn intrek in het kasteel genomen en is er toen ook het Verdag van Heeswijk gesloten welke als doel had de Fransen en Engelsen nader tot elkaar te brengen.
Ook tijdens de Franse Revolutie heeft het kasteel een rol gespeeld. Het was het hoofdkasteel van de Engelse Luitenant-generaal Abercrombie en later bezet de Franse generaal Pichegru het kasteel om vanuit het Heeswijk-Dinther Den Bosch aan te vallen.
Na de tweede wereldoorlog wordt er begonnen aan tal van restauraties die ervoor zorgen dat het kasteel zijn oude glorie terug krijgt. Sinds het jaar 2000 is de hoofdburcht weer open en krijgt het zijn huidige functie als museum.
Het gala zal plaats vinden in de gewelven van het kasteel als ook de ridderzaal. Allereerst zal er begonnen worden met het traditionele diner waarna het feest zal los barsten. Onder het genot van een drankje kan er genoten worden van live muziek en natuurlijk de prachtige ambiance die het kasteel bied.

At the 21st
of December a gala is organized as the closing activity of the lustrum month. This
year the location will be the castle Heeswijk. This castle has seen
many things during its long history. The French king Lodewijk XIV has lived in
this castle and also the treaty of Heeswijk has been signed there which had as
a goal to bring the French and English closer together.
During the French Revolution the castle also played a significant part. It was the headquarters of the English Lieutenant General Abercrombie. Also it was occupied by the French general Pichegru to use it as a base to attack Den Bosch.
After the Second World War work is started on a lot of restorations which will make sure the castle is restored to its former glory. Since the year 2000 the main part of the castle is reopened and it is given its current function as a museum.
The gala will take place in the underground vaults and also in the main room of the castle. First we will start with the traditional dinner after which the party will start. At the party you will be able to enjoy live music and the beautiful ambiance of the castle.
